Padma Patil was played by British actress of Bangladeshi origin, Afshan Azad. Both Padma and her sister Parvati were in Harry's class at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While Padma was sorted into Ravenclaw, her sister went to Gryffindor.
